How Does it Feel.... To Be A Rolling Stone? (My first album review)

Wheels – Wheels (Black Album)

The self titled – “Wheels (Black Album)” comes from Yellow Springs, Ohio with folk and alternative rock tunes, along with quintet harmonized vocals. The album kicks off with two foot-stomping tracks, “The Dove”, and “Gold/Black” which loops a catchy rock beat while building up to quick rock and piano solos.
The album slows with “Panic Attacks on a Friday Night” and “Sakura” which then picks up creating an alternative rock faster-paced beat with nice melodies that are easy to sing along with.
After the “Intermission” song, a quick circus-like instrumental, the band breaks out the banjo and mandolin for the pure folk “Morse Code”.  The album then slows again with “Windmill” as an acoustic guitar is played with several other quiet instruments with the nostalgic background vocals and a pickup at the end to rap up the song.
Finally, the tunes “So Fast” and “September” finish the album with folk/alternative rock melodies, providing catchy vocals in “So Fast” which interestingly doesn’t really have a chorus.
